Band Gift Ideas!

Due to popular demand, we have created a list of practical gift ideas that would be perfect for your band-loving students! These are great ideas for the holiday season or future birthdays.

Let me know if you have any questions about anything on the list (below or attached)!

All:
  • Music Stand for at-home practice (no more strained necks!)
  • Black Music Folder with Pencil Pocket (example)
  • Books of solo music specifically for your child’s instrument!
  • Classical, pop, rock, jazz, folk, etc.
    • If you’re not sure what music to pick, send a link to Mrs. Swann and she’ll let you know if the music is achievable for your child’s current playing ability! robin.swann@rbe.sk.ca
  • Tuner (phone apps work great for metronomes, not so much for tuning)
  • Novelty items: jewelry, keychains, artwork, t-shirts, stickers for cases, etc.
  • A cleaning through St. John’s Music or Long & McQuade. If your child is in Grade 7 or 8 and hasn’t had their instrument serviced since Grade 6, this is probably the most useful idea on the list!  Servicing is free if you are renting. Otherwise, see your specific instrument for an approximate price (prices will vary depends on the wear and tear on your individual instrument).

Grade 7 & 8 Bands: Added Rehearsal on Dec 9

Hello everyone,

We are adding a full band rehearsal on Monday, December 9 for the Grade 7 and 8 bands to make up the rehearsal lost on Nov 19 because Martin’s auditorium was in use for their musical.

Students will board busses at the same time they always do on Day 2 afternoons.

Thank you for adding this to your schedules!
